Manuel Ocampo, born in 1965, Quezon City, Philippines
Ocampo has twisted classical drawing concepts and put conventional attitudes of art on it's head. He has developed a vocabulary of images which describe his humorous, often sardonic, intensely personal view of life. During the exhibition Bongout's walls will be plastered with Ocampo's drawings. These images will be reflected in a series of screenprints, paintings and for the audacious visitors opening night, tattooed to flesh. Free.

Ocampos Zeichenkonzepte sind skurril und stellen konventionelle Kunstauffassungen auf den Kopf. Er entwickelte ein Bildvokabular, das seine humorvolle, oft hämische und höchst persönliche Lebenssicht skizziert. Bongouts Wände werden für die Ausstellung mit Ocampos Zeichenungen vollgepflastert. Diese Bilder werden in einer Serie von Siebdrucken und Malereien reflektiert und in einer frivolen Eröffnungsnacht auf Fleisch tätowiert. Kostenlos.

Professional tattooist Sacha - Primitive Abstract (Oslo) has set up shop in a room of the gallery.
